"TO ANALYSE THE GESTURE FOR A BETTER READING OF THE CLUE", research axis.
To enquire into the notion of clues led me, inevitably, to enquire about interpretation conditions of the index. As part of my research, I wanted to focus on the intuition in use. I especially felt it through the study of gesture, a study enriched by the work of the anthropologist LEROI-GOURHAN "Le geste et la parole". Thanks to his process of reflection, I could question the spontaneity of the gesture, the determinism of it, which allowed me to understand the foundations of intuition.
In a first experience, I offered a metaphor for the gesture that educates. This brush inspired by the pantograph is designed for two. It crystallizes the notion of guide and the notion of working in tandem. The gesture shapes, is felt through our individual and collective experience. Intuition is not innate but acquired. The intuitive reading of the object can be made through formal, aesthetic, cultural clues which resonate with our own experience.

S'interroger sur la notion d'indices m'a conduite inévitablement à m'enquérir des conditions de lecture de l'indice. Dans le cadre de ma recherche, j'ai souhaité me focaliser sur l'intuition dans l'usage. Je l'ai notamment, éprouvée au travers de l'étude du geste. Une étude nourrit par l'oeuvre de l'anthropologue LEROI-GOURHAN, "le geste et la parole". C'est grâce à sa réflexion que j'ai pu interroger la spontanéité du geste, les déterminismes de celui-ci ce qui m'a permit de sonder les fondements de l'intuition.
Dans une première expérience, j'ai proposé une métaphore du geste qui s'éduque. Ce pinceau inspiré du pantographe s'utilise à deux, il cristallise la notion de guide, de tandem. Le geste se façonne, s'éprouve au travers de notre expérience individuelle et collective. L'intuition n'est pas innée mais acquise. La lecture intuitive de l'objet peut être faite grâce à des indices formels, esthétiques, culturels qui entrent en résonance avec notre propre expérience.
My reflection on the gesture as an index reader is associated with the concept of affordance. The affordance refers to the fundamental properties of an object which allows the user to understand what relationship can be established with it. These are all ecological and ergonomic properties that make an obvious object to use.
From this concept, I extracted a key concept: that of augmented reality. In other words, the indices carried by the object become readable and the usage turns intuitive when a return of actions performed on the object is immediately noticeable. Thus, through my laboratory of forms, I tried to increase the predictive reading of clues, including the gesture in the design and the usage. In this way, my exploration hinges on around three main actions that involve very specific set of gestures: to compress, to dig, to gather. By analyzing the gesture in its movement, I sought forms, footprints, clues that could make the action and the usage easier, a projection of the gesture. From these experimentations, we can say that an analysis of the gesture is required to read the clue. The gesture allows to read the clue, to analyse, to create and to understand it.
Ma réflexion autour du geste comme lecteur d'indice s'est associée au concept d'affordance. L'affordance renvoyant aux propriétés fondamentales d'un objet qui permet à l'usager de comprendre quelle relation il peut établir avec lui. Ce sont toutes les propriétés écologiques et ergonomiques qui rendent un objet évident à utiliser.
De ce concept j'ai extrait une notion clé celle de la réalité augmentée. Autrement dit, les indices portés par l'objet deviennent lisible et l'usage intuitif dès lors qu'un retour des actions effectuées sur l'objet est immédiatement perceptible. Ainsi, au travers de mon laboratoire de formes, j'ai tenté d'accroître la lecture intuitive des indices, en incluant le geste dans la conception et l'usage. J'ai ainsi, articulé ma prospection autour de trois grandes actions qui impliquent un ensemble très particulier de gestes: comprimer, creuser, réunir. En analysant le geste dans son mouvement, j'ai cherché à obtenir des formes, des empreintes, des indices susceptibles de rendre l'action, l'usage plus facile, une projection du geste. En ressort de ces expérimentations une analyse du geste comme nécessaire à la lecture de l'indice. Le geste permet de lire l'indice, d'analyser de créer et comprendre.
